Linda M. Montembeault passed away at the age of 68 on July 17, 2016 surrounded by family in Noblesville Indiana. Linda was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in 2014 and fought hard and bravely for nearly two years. Her death brought to her a peace for which we are grateful and we consider her fight a triumph as never once did she allow the disease to overcome her beautiful spirit and love for life, and all things precious to her in it.

Linda M. Montembeault was born in Skowhegan Maine on November 14, 1947 to father Pearly Signor (deceased) and mother Verna Signor (deceased). Linda is survived by her brother Charles Signor, his wife Megan Signor, and their son Lucas Signor. Linda had three children for which she lived her life and is survived by all three. Her daughter Nicole M Montembeault and wife Kacee Murphy; her son Brett R Montembeault and wife Kelly Montembeault with their two beautiful children Aiden Montembeault and Emerson Montembeault; and her son Heath R Montembeault and wife Carie Montembeault.

Linda led a full, meaningful life in the all too short 68 years she was on this Earth. She was sustained by those friends and family members who surrounded her. To know her, you know that she had one of the brightest spirits of anyone you could ever meet. She never put herself first, she was always thinking about what she can do for those in her life. She was the most positive person you would meet, always offering up a word of encouragement or a smile that would let you know that everything would in fact be ok. She loved to enjoy a great glass of wine, especially if it was with good company! Spending time first in the New England area, later relocating to California, and ultimately settling in the Indianapolis Indiana area, Linda acquired the best attributes of all worlds in her personality. If she wasn’t searching for the perfect lighthouse, then she was admiring a picture of the ocean, or thinking of ways to continue to be a genuine individual to all of those in her life. We have fond memories of times that we spent with mom driving out to a grassy overlook in California to look out at the ocean, cheese roll-ups in hand, for a family night. She taught us that simple sometimes is best, so long as you do it with all the right intentions. She ALWAYS had the right intentions.

Linda took great care to instill in her children (by example) the need to take care of those in your life and to never let the knocks in life, actually knock you over. She held fast to that philosophy as she battled Cancer, always with a smile on her face or a reassuring word, even when we knew that she was in pain. We believe while it seemed her pain threshold was abnormally high, that it was more so the power of positive thought that kept her comfortable and powering through treatments. She also believed in the power of prayer and had a special, indisputable relationship with the big guy upstairs. Her faith, her family, her friends, and her fierce desire to stay with us kept her fighting for as long as she did.

Linda may have left us in her physical presence, but we have no doubt that she will appear in each of our lives in some form or another when she knows that we need her, because that is who she was when she was physically with us. She was always there. To repay the gesture, we invite you to join us in a visitation and service to celebrate her life, and to be there for her. On Wednesday, July 20, 2016 from 1:00pm – 3:00pm there will be a visitation followed by a service from 3:00pm – 4:00pm. Both the visitation and the service will be held at her church, St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 100 W. 86th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46260. Linda had two requests for the visitation and service; the first being that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Ovarian Cancer Research and the second being that those who attend please celebrate her life as opposed to being sad. We will do our best as a family to help her wishes come to fruition.

We have created a Wall of Hope Donation Page on the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance website. Any donations made using this link: http://ocrf.kintera.org/wallofhope/lindamontembeault will be made in memoriam of Linda specifically. If you would prefer to send in a check, please make checks payable to Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance and mail to: Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance, Attn: PO Box 32141, New York, NY 10087-2141. Please write with the check, “the donation is to be made in honor of Linda Montembeault (account listed under Nicole Montembeault).”

I am glad that I met Linda. She most definitely had an overwhelming positive vibe about her. I also particularly noticed the kind energy exuding from her.We live for those we love. Regrettably I will not be able to attend the services but wanted you to know that I am sorry for your loss

I worked with Linda for the past 10 years at BSALS. She was a beacon of light and I will never forget her beautiful smile. She was so positive and her faith was unwavering. I’m so glad we became closer throughout her battle. I told her she was an inspiration to me and that I could only hope that if I were ever faced with a terminal illness, I could confront it with the grace and faith that she did. I will miss her and feel blessed to have known her beautiful spirit.
